Flood-1PESHAWAR, Pakistan – As terrible floods and ongoing heavy rains continue to plague Pakistan, Operation Blessing is working with its longtime disaster relief partner, Humedica, to mobilize emergency medical relief for the many families displaced by the rising waters.

Already, an estimated 1,100 people have died in the floods. The torrential rains have caused the worst flooding in the country’s history, with numerous rivers jumping their banks and entire towns swept away by the muddy waters. In all, more than 1 million have been affected by the storm.

WorryIt's 7 am - and I am waking up after a short night sleep. I did not sleep much at all - as worries kept going through my mind, all the time. These thoughts just could not leave me alone and kept occupying my mind - even when I continually reminded myself that would be fine after all. You know, me and my wife we have been struggling a lot over the recent years. We got ourselves into debt by making the wrong decisions all the time - and when we did have some money to spend, we wasted it on things we did not needed. It's the story of my life, really - as I never have been able to hold on to money or to manage it well.

There were times when I wished I had all the things my friend had. After all, they drove nice cars and lived in beautiful homes - and their lives seemed so picture - perfect! Nothing like us - as we always rented and the car I drive I don't even want to talk about. And what about my right to have good things - after all, we live in a materialistic society where there is enough for everyone, right? Often I made this excuse and bought things  I could not afford which increased our mountain of debt. Although we bought that car on finance - we could hardly keep up with the monthly payments and we missed a few, affecting my credit rating....

muyiwaVIRGINIA, BEACH, VA (ANS) -- The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) has announced that it is re-launching its Turning Point show which began in 1977 with the goal of producing an English language program for an African audience.

"The program aired successfully for more than ten years becoming a household name in countries such as Nigeria," Stuart Bennett of CBN International told the ASSIST News Service (ANS). "Its impact can be measured by thousands of letters and e-mails from viewers around the world. But it is probably better judged by the thousands of people who have come to know Jesus Christ through the program."

stevencurtischapman"Heaven is a sweet, maple syrup kiss and a thousand other little things I miss with her gone"
...from "Heaven is the Face"

It"s the little moments in life that are often the most defining---a sticky kiss from a child, a shared prayer, an embrace from an old friend. For more than two decades, Steven Curtis Chapman has celebrated life"s most precious moments in song. The joys and challenges of daily existence reverberate throughout Steven"s music and his songs have become the soundtrack of life for believers everywhere. For Steven, life and music have always been inextricably intertwined. So in the aftermath of unspeakable tragedy—the death of his fiveyear- old daughter Maria—Steven did what all songwriters do, he poured the torrent of emotion into his music.
